The evolution of Paolo Avanzi could be defined as a rapid acceleration, which took place from 2002, following a long and complex apprenticeship on issues that, although unrelated to the arts, have allowed the maturation as an artist. Studies classical piano at the conservatory, degree in psychology, experience of business organisation and ten years of creative writing culminated in the publication of a novel and a series of stories. This is the premise of intense activity that in recent pictorial years has led him to attend a series of exhibitions and fairs at not only national but also international.
The artistic path of Paolo Avanzi is based on a series of reasons related to abstract expressionism of the'50s and'60s. His glazes plastic reflect themes Burri and Pollock combined with an expressiveness that suffered most ironic which find expression in the next round of figurative imprint. The discovery of the possibilities offered by computer painting techniques addressed him toward the handling of images, first limited to the chromatic scale and then extended to more structural ones. At the last stage the artist comes to an original reworking of figuration made of progressive breakdowns of the subject.
